Future Electronics Has the Latest ModelGauge m5 Technology from Maxim Integrated

Montreal, Canada – July 2, 2018 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, now carries Maxim Integrated’s comprehensive family of fuel gauges featuring the latest ModelGauge m5 technology.

Maxim’s fuel gauges offer important features for battery-powered applications. The most recent m5 Fuel Gauge, the MAX17055, comes in a tiny 1.4×1.5mm package, and consumes only 7uA of operating current, which provides added lifetime to the system.

The ModelGauge m5 builds on the m3 and offers even greater accuracy, along with additional features including time-to-full, and Cycle+ age forecasting, which estimates when the battery will start deteriorating faster towards the end of its life cycle.

Maxim’s patented algorithms deliver many advantages, including best state of charge accuracy, longest battery run-time, smallest solution size, and robust safety and security, and enable fastest time to market

Future Electronics Has Advanced Battery Management Solutions from Maxim Integrated

Montreal, Canada – May 17, 2018 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, now carries the most advanced battery management solutions from Maxim Integrated.

Effective battery management is more important than ever. As portable applications extend into more industries, the demand for small, low-cost products with long battery life is increasing. Maxim Integrated offers industry-leading battery management solutions include battery chargers, fuel gauges, battery monitors, battery selectors, and battery protectors—solutions that reduce cost, save space, and significantly extend the battery life of portable products.

Maxim’s fuel gauges monitor remaining battery charge using their proprietary ModelGauge™ algorithm to provide the highest accuracy. SHA-256 authentication helps to prevent battery pack cloning. The battery charger ICs provide support for USB Type-C devices, meeting all Power Delivery (PD) 3.0 voltage range specifications. Together, these battery chargers and fuel gauges provide the efficiency, accuracy, and protection required to support the latest Li+ battery applications.

The MAX32620FTHR board is a rapid development platform designed to help engineers quickly implement battery-optimized solutions with the MAX32620 Arm®Cortex®-M4 microcontroller with FPU. The board includes the MAX77650 ultra-low power PMIC and MAX17055 fuel gauge to provide efficient power conversion and battery management with minimal board space.

The MAX32620 is a high-performance, ultra-low power Arm Cortex-M4 with FPU-Based Microcontroller for rechargeable devices. This is ideally suited for emerging wearable medical and fitness applications.

The MAX17055 is a 7µA 1-cell fuel gauge with ModelGauge m5 EZ. This is the industry’s lowest IQ fuel gauge, and ModelGauge m5 EZ eliminates battery characterization.

The MAX77650 is an ultra-low power PMIC with 3-Output SIMO and charger. This PMIC is optimized for small Li+, and is a highly-integrated battery charging and power solution for low-power, size-constrained applications.
