Maxim’s fuel gauges offer important features for battery-powered applications. The most recent m5 Fuel Gauge, the MAX17055, comes in a tiny 1.4×1.5mm package, and consumes only 7uA of operating current, which provides added lifetime to the system.

The ModelGauge m5 builds on the m3 and offers even greater accuracy, along with additional features including time-to-full, and Cycle+ age forecasting, which estimates when the battery will start deteriorating faster towards the end of its life cycle.

Future Electronics Delivers New uSLIC Himalaya Power Modules from Maxim Integrated

Montreal, Canada – June 28, 2018 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, now carries the new uSLIC Himalaya power modules from Maxim Integrated.

uSLIC is an exciting new addition to Maxim’s already popular and well-established Himalaya family of integrated inductor modules. The MAXM17532 and MAXM15462 are buck converter modules with a 4-42V input rating, and rated for 100 and 300ma of current. The wide voltage range on the input side means they can cover many of the common industry power rails, particularly in the industrial and medical space, but they can also be used as an LDO replacement.

These modules differentiate themselves by their exceedingly small packaging. While many buck converters without an inductor are larger, Maxim Micro-SLIC modules integrate the inductor in a tiny 2.6×3.0mm package. This smaller size is a key benefit in the industrial space, where industry 4.0 is driving a need to add greater functionality to a design in a smaller space.

Micro-SLIC modules are very robust, complying with Class B Conducted and Radiated Emissions and passing Drop, Shock, and Vibration Standards. They also boast 90% peak efficiency, which makes them an attractive option for thermal reasons.
