OPTIGA Connect IoT from Infineon Featured in THE EDGE by Future Electronics

Summary: Future Electronics is featuring Infineon’s OPTIGA Connect IoT OC2321 eSIM solution in this month’s edition of THE EDGE.

Montreal, Canada – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, is featuring a turnkey eSIM solution for cellular-connected IoT devices from Infineon in the latest edition of THE EDGE.

The Infineon OPTIGA Connect IoT is a ready-to-connect embedded SIM (eSIM) solution for cellular IoT devices. This turnkey solution allows easy, secured and cost-optimized deployment and management of cellular-enabled IoT devices at scale. The OC2321 comes with a pre-installed GSMA-compliant operating system and pre-integrated connectivity capabilities. OPTIGA Connect IoT offers global cellular network coverage (2G, 3G, 4G, CATM and other LTE services) spanning 640+ networks across 200 countries.

OPTIGA™ Connect IoT is based on Infineon’s best-in-class Common Criteria EAL5+ certified eSIM hardware, which is designed to exceed the security standards typically required by industry today. This adds an additional level of tamper resistance to these solutions, hardening them against physical attacks – which is especially important for devices that remain in the field for long periods of time.

The OPTIGA Connect IoT eSIM is an ideal solution for a wide range of applications, including security cameras and alarms, air conditioning, lighting, factory automation, asset tracking, and wearables.

CIPOS Mini IPMs and OPTIGA Trust M Security from Infineon Featured in FTM by Future Electronics

Summary: Future Electronics is featuring Infineon’s CIPOS Mini Intelligent Power Modules and the OPTIGA Trust M security solution in the latest issue of Future Technology Magazine.

Montreal, Canada – January 02, 2020 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, is featuring intelligent power modules and IoT security solutions from Infineon in the latest issue of Future Technology Magazine (FTM).

Infineon’s energy-efficient CIPOS Mini Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) integrate the power and control components of an inverter, motor or Power Factor Correction (PFC) power stage in a single package, enabling designers to achieve higher reliability and to optimize PCB size and system cost.

The high level of integration in a CIPOS Mini IPM simplifies the design of power systems and markedly shortens time to market. These IPMs may be used to control AC motors in variable-speed drives consuming up to 3kW.

Infineon’s new OPTIGA Trust M solution helps manufacturers of IoT devices connected to cloud-computing services to enhance the security of their products while also improving system performance.

The OPTIGA Trust M SLS32AIA series, a single-chip security controller solution, stores unique device credentials, and enables devices to connect to the cloud up to ten times faster than software-only alternatives.

When embedded in an IoT end-point device, an SLS32AIA chip can enable security functions including mutual authentication, secure communication, data store protection, lifecycle management, power management, secure updates and platform integrity protection.

Infineon’s Shield2Go board for the OPTIGA Trust M security chip supports fast evaluation and development of IoT end-point devices which require secure cloud connections. It features one OPTIGA Trust M security chip on an easy-to-handle PCB.

Design engineers can build systems by combining multiple Shield2Go boards with the Infineon My IoT adapter board. The adapter board is compatible with the Arduino form factor, and enables fast development in a familiar project environment.

Future Technology Magazine is the flagship publication of Future Electronics, and is geared toward engineers and buyers looking to keep up with the latest developments in the industry. FTM comes out eight times per year, and each issue is packed with new product information, application notes, and detailed technical views from Future’s Advanced Engineers and other industry experts. The magazine is available in both digital and print editions.
